Despite this fact, some people still struggle with rooting rose cuttings, but we’re about to change all of that right here.
If you follow these steps, you’ll be rooting rose cuttings like crazy and you’ll never look back.
Here are your steps to successfully grow roses from cuttings:
- Find a 1 or 2 gallon nursery pot
- Fill the pot with a well draining rooting medium
- Find a 2 liter soda or water bottle and cut the bottom off
- Choose a rose cutting 8 to 10 inches long and 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick during the growing season
- Strip all leaves except for the top 2 sets of leaves
- Dip the bottom end of your cutting into rooting hormone
- Stick the cutting into your pot full of medium about 1/3 to 1/2 the length of the cutting
- Spray the cutting and surface of the medium with an antifungal spray (optional)
- Place your soda bottle over the rose cutting to maintain humidity
- Place your pot in a shaded location with plenty of sky light but no direct sun
- Wait 6 to 8 weeks
- Water if necessary
- adjust the bottle cap to vent heat if necessary
